Dance Positive Text Notifications (Staff)
Dance Positive offers an optional SMS text notification program for our staff — instructors and administrators — to receive operational, work-related updates about the classes they teach and manage. This page describes who receives messages, what we send, how staff opt in, and how to stop.
Who receives messages
Only Dance Positive staff members (instructors and administrators) who hold an account in the Dance Positive application and have actively opted in. We do not text students, parents, or the general public through this program, and we never message numbers obtained from purchased lists or third parties.
What we send
Operational, work-related notifications only — no marketing:
- Class schedule changes
- Substitute-teacher and shift requests
- Class cancellations
- End-of-class attendance reminders
- Payroll and scheduling reminders
How staff opt in
Staff opt in through a consent screen inside the Dance Positive application after logging in. The consent checkbox is unchecked by default and must be actively selected and saved to enroll. Providing SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of employment or of access to the application — declining does not restrict use of the platform.

"I consent to receive SMS text messages from Dance Positive related to my work, including class schedules, shift and substitute requests, cancellations, and payroll or scheduling notices. Message frequency may vary. Message & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe at any time."

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Stopping messages and getting help
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact support@dancepositive.org.
Links in messages
Some messages include a link to your private Dance Positive dashboard — for example, an attendance sheet for a class you just taught. These links require you to be logged in to your Dance Positive account and lead to staff-only pages; they do not expose any student information in the link itself.
Your privacy
We do not share or sell your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in consent with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Mobile opt-in information is used solely to deliver the messages you requested, and is kept separate from any research data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
